About the House of God

By: Samuel Gyapong

“These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” 1 Timothy 3:14-15

This passage shows that God has a house or dwelling place and that house is known as the Church. The Church is the saved of Christ and the also identified in the scriptures as the kingdom, the body, the temple of God, The Church of God or The Church of Christ.

Examine Yourselves Whether You are in the Faith

By: Samuel Gyapong

Paul in his letter to the Corinthians challenged them to "examine themselves as to whether they are in the faith.  Prove yourselves." 2 Co 13:5

In doing so, he employs the present tense for the verbs examine indicating that such examination was to be an on-going activity!

This should naturally raise some important questions...

   a. Why should we examine ourselves?

   b. By what standard should we examine ourselves

   c. What sort of questions should we be asking ourselves?
